For Children and Adolescents

Our clinic is child focused and aims to promote psychological wellbeing that enables all children seen within the service to maximise their potential. Assessment and treatment is available for children, their parents and their families to help them to find their own solutions to their difficulties. This is achieved by talking things through with a child and his or her family and using a range of evidence based assessments and therapeutic interventions to enable them to make the necessary changes in their lives.

The Therapy Rooms offers a range of personalised and confidential assessments and treatments to children, young people and their parents and families.

Sometimes children will be seen individually but it is more usual for them to be seen with their parents for at least some of the time. Sometimes it may be appropriate for the whole family to be seen together.

Treatment choices are always individually planned and based upon a careful assessment of the difficulties. Children and their families will always be involved in the decision about what form of therapy is likely to be most helpful. Any recommendations made will be informed by evidence based practice and NICE guidelines.
